Panoramas

In the default layout for this WordPress theme – Atahualpa – there is a panoramic header image made from whatever images you choose to put into a header image file. If you put more than one image into the header file, every time you click on a new page in your site, a different header appears. The default size for the image is 1300 x 150 pixels – a real panorama.

This all seemed quite fun when I was setting up the site, but in the end it got a bit distracting and contrasted rather too much with whatever main image was on the page. However, having constructed a few panoramas from my photo files, I started to think about this wide and low layout. It can’t be applied to every image you take, or indeed to the majority of images, but it’s fun to play with and having created a few, I thought I’d put them up on this page.
