Sri Lankan girl
Little Sri Lankan girl pictured outside the hut in a village near Unawatuna where she lives with mum and elder sister. While the rest of our party checked out elder sister’s school work, this one played catch with me with a tennis ball – she had a powerful throw. Candidate for a future women’s cricket team?

Trampoline Fun

A test of the camera this one. In the relatively low light conditions, flash wasn’t an option because of the distance, so I racked up the ISO in order to freeze the movement. The Canon gets a bit twitched in these conditions so you need to take a few shots to get the right one. Overall, the grain level is reasonable.
The image is adjusted in Lightroom and cropped to about 1/3 of it’s original size – she nearly flew out of the side of the frame!

Lantau fisherman
Another shot of a fisherman, this one in a boat off Cheung Sha beach, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. I was testing out my new Canon G3X’s capabilities at full telephoto – 600mm equivalent – together with its image stabilisation. It passed!

Welcome to the revamped dgcPhoto site, complete with a new theme and a new look.
I’ve been rather busy with other things for a while, so I thought a makeover was more than overdue. I hope you like it.
In many ways, the site is the same as before except that with the new theme it’s easier to navigate and more efficient to load. And the layout is far cleaner.
I’m currently using two cameras: the truly excellent Canon 90D I bought several months ago that is streets ahead of any other camera I’ve owned over the years, and a Canon 100D that I’ve had for a couple of years — a really lightweight little workhorse. I am also using my iPhone SE far more than I expected. The latest OS makes it an incredibly versatile camera.
Keep checking out the galleries; the old ones have been reinstalled and new ones are being added.
