Adriatic lizard orchids in our garden in Tuscany. These delightful wild orchids colonised a part of a wild part of the garden some years ago, and now each year they pop up in varying numbers. Sometimes a few; sometimes hundreds.

Tens of thousands of starlings flocking over the Tuscan city of Arezzo in the late autumn. After the staggering visual performance, they roost for the night before moving on as part on their annual migration.
A selection of shots from the now-closed Phuket Butterfly Farm. Its replacement in the Botanic Gardens isn’t a patch on the original, so I’m pleased that I grabbed these shots when I did.
